ordinary day

no work today.

i woke up at 10.56 in the morning cus i couldn't stand the smell coming from the kitchen. my maid was probably frying some stuff. that's like the most bothering smell in the morning. i woke up partly because i felt kinda guilty for enjoying too much air-con. our bills are inflating like a balloon i heard, so i better not contribute any more to it since i dont bring money home every month.
instead of slacking my day away, a certain sense of responsibility overwhelmed me and i knew that i can't possibly waste my time away. since school's gonna start after such a long break, i gotta keep up with knowledge. you don't wana lose out and go "uh...." when ur schoolmates engage in a convo right? besides, some jc students can be real scary.....they sort of make you feel dumb sometimes.
so i read a lot [ my a lot meant more than what i usually read] lol....but the surprising thing was, i didn't take it much as a chore, i read more outta interest...probably spurred by the recent election rallies...
talking about rallies, nee soon central had a rally yesterday....it was kinda predicted that more people turn up for the WP's rally than the PAP's. the numbers weren't made up of genuine support i reckon. the huge turn-out on the WP's side was more generated by curiosity and pure look-see attitude. to think that me and my mum actually went for it too for merely 20mins. i better not comment further on that except for the itch i had on my feet for standing on the disgusting field.
so i read the papers and then laid on the couch for sometime. i didn't want to do more reading cus it'll just bore me to death on such a lazy day. i'm not the kinda bookish person like my sis. no matter how interesting the materials are, i just won't go on and on for the whole day. unlike my sis, who can actually finish harrypotter in like 2 days....i simply can't.
that's why i settled for math instead. lol i'm by no means trying to catch up with my less than plaudable grades in sec sch but i had to complete the math papers in order to tutor my student.
math is still, like a pain in the ass to me.....though i can get the qns right...i'm taken aback by how difficult the P6 qns are now...i can't imagine that 10 yrs down the road, my kids will have to undergo the same, if not, worse fate than this.
now, i found myself positioned comfortably before the laptop, writing this piece of long winded essay which is nothing close to a masterpiece. i call it professional-crapping... i'm writing this cus i have nothing much to do before 4.30 [my tuition], and cus i haven been updating. the stuff i wrote these days are pretty general and nothing much of what i was doing recently.
now you know......i'm boring.
btw, i haven accept any of the varsities yet...but most probably, it will be NUS.
and one more thing, my phone's dying on me.....ANYTIME.

i can still remember..

the moment i set my eyes on the school, i dread the imagination of myself stepping into it everyday of the 3 yrs i've got to spend there. the picture painted was ugly and stale. the colors inverted, and nothing seem pretty. the very first words which struck my mind were "2nd class", "yucks", "my god" and "shit".

the million dollar question: "why didn't i work harder for my math"?

the extent of resentment was far beyond words....i mean, who will ever want to go through this kinda fate? seperated from all your friends, reduced to a position where no one in particular ever thought of as an option, an abrupt, yet regretful end to all the camaradrie built within 4 yrs.....[you did have best friends, but everyone's moving on] your best friends have a life too, a new life, in a new and credible school. you? "of cus, we're still best of friends"- those whom only meet up a few times each yr...the "u take good care yah?" kind....till this point, my heart has already sank to the bottom.

and at the other end of the red spat, there's poor ol' me, who struggles to make the best, [not best, but at least, livable] days outta this sticky situation. i'm totally stuck, either way, there's no turning back. everytime people enquire about my school and studies, it's like an insult. though very often i merely laughed it off and made jokes out of it, somehow, many a times, i felt like crying out loud. i hate to acknowledge the fact that i'm left-out.

i've met new friends, some of them are still close to me now and will still be in yrs to come. those were the ones whom i went thru thick and thin with... how we mugged the afternoons away, how we hogged the printing room with the prelim papers, how we bugged teachers for more tutorials on our own free will....we ran and panted and ran again every monday for the past 3 yrs.....cursing at the pe teachers and their 'inhuman' antics...[and yet we thank them for our fitness] to think about it now, we actually missed those torture sessions...]

for now, i'm comfortable with where i am and my own achievements. it seems most appropriate at this point, for me to pen a note of thanks to the school for all the success i've yielded. i'm so sorry, i couldn't find anything nice to say. i'd probably write something that reads " thanks for providing me with such a lousy environment which forced me to adopt harsh methods of survival". crude but at least it's something some of us can relate to. there are minimal number of teachers who are truly dedicated in their teaching and a huge part of it makes up the students' own efforts. but i gotta say this, even if we were spoon fed, some students are like spoilt brats who refused to open their mouths. thus, they don't get no where...

maybe this sounds like "chronicles of a sore-loser"...and it's like i'm bragging about how great i am...the thing is, i believe i have the right to say this as a form of consolation after spending 3 yrs in a place i dread returning to. for now, i can firmly assure myself " it's ok, no one's gonna look down on me anymore, i'm where i'm supposed to be. i deserve every bit of it." though the almost predictable kinda answer still resound in my head whenever i was asked about my school, i've finally shaken off the "tag"....at long last. no one's gonna go "huh?....oh...ok...." when i mention my school name from now on.

it doesn't matter where you came from...ultimately it is the product that matters. even JC students who are seemingly 'made' for universities, don't get into any... the ultimate prestige is to be accepted by the varsities....the most concrete prove of one's credibility... you think the uniform you wear is cool...you think sports is your life, you think revisions can wait, and sadly, you think the grasses in school are green....take a look at those in kent ridge and nanyang crescent...then think again.

2 entries in a day?!

WOOOHOOOOOOOOOO....

what a record!!! 2 entries in a day!!! that's not my style but i gotta admit that the capacity of joy i have inside is immeasurable...

i'm totally, extremely, insanely euphoric!

obviously, NUS' package is much more pro in all aspects. to top it all off, the package was large [which probably boasts sincerity] whatever it is, the acceptance letter was uncalled for.

i thought i'd just settle for NTU but NO, now i'm spoilt for choice.....

so how? which should i settle for? this calls for an annual general meeting for PTE LTD. the fact that all 3 [shin, shou, tao] of us are now in the same shoes, same company, with the exact same excitement, gives good reason for a discussion. lol....

there are a billion things to be done after THEEEE decision is made. the most important of all will be none other than taking a decent picture for my matriculation card. [ for those who don't know a thing, it's a classic representation of pride and glory.....in my own accord of cus]

till then...i'm happy like hell~~~*

i felt my heartbeat

*i felt my heartbeat

i could almost hear my heartbeat despite the noise around me. it's like i've shut myself out from the outside world just for that moment. then, it all came back to me....everyone started moving again...it's like my wings broke and i fell flat to the ground.

i've always been fascinated by the way my mind works, especially towards the 'evergreens' of human heart: the difference between 'like' and 'love'. when will one ever stop loving? or, how will one know it's love? for one, how do you even tell 'like' and 'love' a part?

like me, i believe many people out there whether in love or not, may be chary of dealing with those questions in depth. sure enough, i'm just one of those people who doesn't reflect about it even though time is always on my side these days.

when asked about this subject, my answer varies widely to different people, at different times. but a fact i could never run away from was the unmistakable overtone of anticipation which lies beneath every answer i gave. life's good being single, life's even better being attached isn't it?
you could also turn it the other way round. ultimately, the chasm between singles and non-singles will continue in decades.......10 yrs down the road, when i'm happily married with children, my definition of love and like may be a whole new different story...

what will you do when you see someone you like, or may love on the streets? he's just like the character who leapt out of the television. unlike the utter disappointment of discovering a hand clasped to his right one, you can only find 2 shopping bags hooked onto it. a pair of black framed glasses sitting comfortably on his sharp nose, a white adidas watch haging loosely on his left wrist and a black mizuno sling bag over his shoulders.......he's not just another shopper in the building, he stood out from the crowd the moment he came down from the escalator.

and dumb ol' me had my eyes glued to him like i saw my favourite korean star......he probably noticed me staring at him but i can't really be sure. for that moment, it suddenly occured to me that maybe he's just the kinda guy i'm looking for. cool. the thing is, he doesn't exactly have the 'singaporean guy' look. in fact to me, i thought he was outta this world.

this is probably the so-called cliche "love at first sight". though i do gawk at those volleyballies back in the A'div days and get all looney over their very minute gestures, i can tell it's a whole new different feeling from those. my heart raced and my palms turned cold. and i just couldn't take my eyes off him. am i deprived? cus after 4 years of break i can actually imagine cob webs growing in the valves of my heart. it's just so funny cus i sound like i'm a woman in my 80s.

to think that i'm such a genius, i actually relied on tv and those far-fetced korean dramas to fill that empty heart of mine...sad....i can't help being honest about it. but somehow that wasn't a pretty idea either......the more i indulge in those dreamy, overrated, unrealistic dramas, the higher my expectations became. and just when i thought i may become so spoilt in my taste for guys, i saw HIM! i'm closer, by just a little bit.........

now that i have the time to sit down and think, maybe it's just a pleasant surprise, nothing worth celebrating about....i have a lifetime to meet good lookers but not everyone equates love. it's just mere liking and nothing else. i like him, but i don't know if i can love him yet right?

there are billions and zillions of population in the entire world and you and i are just a speck of dust from the universe's point of view....isn't it amazing how two persons of different character, background and upbringing meet and eventually fall in love? that's the most amazing thing in the world in my perception.

my conclusion: i'm in this point of my life whereby there's nothing much in particular to fulfill and just to borrow a neat line from jane austen's persuasion, " had no one to love"... what a queer resemblance to Anne's character. eventually, the captain wentworth in my life will appear and everything will be history. Happily Ever After.

~the end~

catching up...

boring.....i ain't got the mood to blog these days because nothing great happened in particular..
i'm still pondering about what breakthrough events can occur in the last few months of my teenage life.

i could busy myself with work...and then shop all the money away...
i could visit the zoo with glyn to revive tt deprived childhood spirit...
i could sing every weekend till my lungs are dry and voice coarse like men...
i could try clubbing [ believe me, i've nv been to tt as yet ]...
i could just brew a good cup of coffee and sit before my pc blogging abt anything under the sun EVERY SINGLE DAY.

there's just THIS amount of things i can do...or so it seems...

i'm slowly acclimatising to the dull life.....

i can even hear it calling out to me late at night..." welcome to the boring world of 20s! as for those who are plagued with loneliness for more than 3 yrs, enter door no. 2 and kill urself...."

lol....and not not mention the eerily pleasant background music ringing incessantly and in an annoyingly soft tone.

okay, it isn't that bad. i know it's gonna be exciting and many of you are probably in my shoes at the moment. this is like our year of transition.
lots of changes will take place and we'll probably take flight to a brand new life ahead. whatever it is.....i'm looking forward but at this point in time, everything spells dumb to me.
i don't feel settled cus i just don't. i don't really know what to anticipate cus there's no clear answers as yet. i hate to wait.......it's killing me......
oh please please please let me know where i'm going asap so i don't have to worry so much....

ok....i gotta update on some stuff:

1) if any of you guys are reading this, this is for you...
it was really fun hanging out with u all and you guys changed so much. it's diff from our sec sch days....so childish. and the abt the "peng you" song....kinda touching but i was overwhelmed....lol....don't worry, my friend had a gd impression of u guys too.... meet up again k? i promise i won't be so awkward..

2) to my dearest li shan.....
hai~~~~~~~~~~~~ why must u leave us........................................................

3) i cut my hair..... i have mixed feelings abt it. oh well....it's an experiment.

once in a lifetime opportunity

i just got a "wake-up" call from NTU today.....
nope i'm not accepted YET..BUT at least i'm seeing the slightest ray of light at the other end of the tunnel.
i had a chance of a lifetime: an interview
to many, this might be just another interview. they're probably oozing with confidence which fills right up their throat [maybe from the day they were born]. but to me, it's all over if i screw up.
that's definitely not what i'm looking forward to, honestly...i mean. who will want THAT to happen.
even if deep down, the very depth of my honesty still worships NUS, i can't be sure if that same loyalty can guarantee me a seat in exchange right? not that my grades are incompetent but no one can be absolutely sure where they'll land unless they get straight As right?
i'm hoping that everything will go well and that either can accept me asap cus i just cant contain this adrenalin rush anymore.....

lousy casting

some shows have issues with their casting.

the female lead of the show "it started with a kiss" sucked miserably this time for trying to act cute n naive.

to me, it's like the nightmare all started the moment she opened her mouth. gross.

.....instead of feeling sorry for her pathetic character, i'm beginning to irk at every single thing she does. maybe it's because i don't like her as a person altogether. well, tt's beside the point. my point is, if it was someone like yang cheng ling [who obviously is a natural in acting cute], i wouldn't mind.

think the character just don't suit her at ALL. disgusting. now that i've watched a big half of it, i couldn't possibly stop cus i must know the ending. BUT, but but but.....i gotta continue to put up with her bloody spastic acting. man, even the villains in the show weren't that repelling. it's simply....urrrghhh...in chinese, we call in "dao3 wei4 kou3". EeEeEeeeeeee.....luckily, to compensate such a flaw, they did have nice songs, an acceptable [but highly predictable] plot, as well as the OTHER more appealing sidekicks. Oh, what makes a nice idol-drama without a kick-ass male lead right? precisely, tt's the only aspect which scored big time for the show---the MALE LEAD.

SO, no credits to tt retarded actress...i'm so sorry....but it's really bad acting, cus she tried far too hard and it's definitely unwelcoming....[she can try other shows though....i'm sure she'll pull off as an all-rounded actress less the act-cute attempts.]

and for the benefit of all living things, please don't pout. i really don't wana let anyone know what i had for breakfast.

chronicles of a tank life.

chronicles of a tank-life:

the shop really resembles a tank. transparent pane glass lining the walkway; a miserable space power-packed with rows and rows of accessories, bags, scarfs etc...and not forgetting the cramped cashier corner at the back.

all it takes is one look and u can see everything. clearly, not the ideal environment per se but it's not too nice to criticise it's presence since it does draw lucrative returns every christmas....

amidst all the negativities, i'd say it's pretty strategically located. a VERY VERY smart choice to be precise. you can practically smell the freshly baked bread and pastry from delifrance every half an hour [though it can make u gag after ur meals]. Intoxicating is the word for it... occasional glimpse of B-list celebrities who surprisingly doesn't like to be caught well-groomed. cute guys [in groups] strolling past every now and then...and if you're a nature-enthusiast, then you'll probably find consolation in the sounds created by an artificial waterfall in the basement.

i hope it doesn't sound like i'm whining.....cus seriously, i don't have an issue with the place.
maybe it's just me and my first-day-at-work-blues...or is it because of SOME people..:

1) i reported far too early for work
2) i had to run up to the office at tower B n back down to the shop, THRICE
3) i queued for "decades" at the ocbc bank to bank in some money for the shop
4) i ate alone for my dinner [this is the 2nd worst part]
5) my legs ached like hell cus there's no where to sit
6) the f**king alarm went off and caused a whole lot of trouble...

...this is what happened:
we locked the "tank" n someone pulled the glass damn hard to see if it's locked. that SOMEONE triggered the alarm which rang like a fire alarm, so loud that the whole ngee ann city can practically hear it. we panicked and unlocked the "tank" again and that someone ran in to de-activate then activate the alarm again. so, we locked up and left. END OF STORY...?
NO!
as we were reaching the train station, our supervisor called to ask us to run back and check on the alarm cus cisco called her.....damn....!@#$%^&*. so we made a mad-dash back only to realise that it was a false alarm cus everything's settled. we had to unlock again, then call cisco to let them know about it. and the rest was history.....

tell me if i'm pushing the blame. i haven't worked in that "tank" before and i weren't the one who locked up the shop. suay suay suay.....is it that someone or me?! damn it!

the ruse finally came to light after wasting $4.25 of my transport fare.

what am i talking abt? i'm just refering to some companies who claim to be hiring HR, Admin n Marketing personnels.

not that i'm deeming them as cheats but if it's plain sales, just say it.
i mean you don't have to go such a long way to explain your comapany history, the wonders of your products or even the forecast of your company's potential......blahblahblah. frankly speaking, if you ask me, i don't really give a damn.

i just wana secure a job, which has nothing to do with pestering people to buy my products. [ for one, i woulnd'nt even think people will buy that idea]. cus not that i'm skeptical towards the things you sell or whatever, just that if it's really gonna be sales, i'd rather work in Accessorize. To borrow a neat line from pte ltd: the grass in greener over there. simple.

sad to say, it took me 2 interviews to really decide from accepting their offer. there's this 3rd interview due today at 1. it just dawned upon me that money aside, happiness and comfort is another criteria i look for in a job. if i couldn't see myself doing that in the long term, i'd opt not to do it.

So, the bottom line: thank you, but no thank you

a love to kill

i'm begining to wonder, why does korean dramas have to be sad and draggy? they can never seem to do away with this tear-jerking edge.

you know it's the same ol' story told before, you know someone's gonna die, you what to expect, who's gonna be with who, and yet you literally keep your eyes glued to the screen, painstakingly follow the chinese subtitles which you can't catch half the time.

what makes you so intrigued and mesmerized is the male lead in the screen. close to perfection, and so full of character...

you're so driven by the thot of yourself being the female lead, of whom he kissed, hugged, and talked to. you begin to wonder, "how i wish i had a love like that". but, the other half of your more sensible self reminds you that you can only dream of it, because it never happens in reality.

it's shows like that which stands in your way- from being down to earth and realistic. but it's never wrong to fantasize right? what's wrong with being dreamy and idealistic for just a few moments.

i'm a self-proclaimed realist but my friends will think otherwise. before them, i can't stop bragging abt the love story i just read, the sad drama i just watched days ago, the latest tunes i've fell in love with. i even name some of them my husband of boyfriend....whatever intimate relationships possible. cute guys, rich brats, talented dudes....whichever category they fall into....

Sad to say, songs are songs, stories can only be stories. at the end of the day, it all comes down to you and your lonely self. how many times can you tell yourself it's ok, i'd sure find someone, someday. i'm not jealous, really. i don't care if other people are doing better than me. i have my friends, i'm not alone.

Right, your life's cool. nvm the hiccups along the way. somehow you'll make it on your own. nvm if it's boring, so long as you're alive, it's ok. But that's not what i want. the truth is, i don't wana lead an ordinary life. i wana meet someone, fall in love, fall out of it and be hurt, and then recover from it. that's pretty sick for some people cus no one likes the feeling. to me, it's an experience cus i've nv been hurt before by the people i love. at least i know i'm protected, and even the relationships i had before, i was probably the one who hurt them.

i really wish that life's like in the movies.....

the kind which u'll lie on your deathbed and reminisce about whatever heartbreaking events happened to you and the one you love.......the kind that can be penned into a sad love story which can make people cry.

i'm sorry for what i said about my sister man. I didn't mean it!

byebye phoney...

My sister lost her phone......AGAIN.

A part of me feels sorry for her, the other half just felt like pushing her head into the toilet bowl.
And to think that she just got the phone a few months ago....the latest samsung model...it can't be worst.

She probably felt the same excruciating pain she felt 2 years ago and it may well take a toll on her screwed up life....i don't care. she kinda deserved it.
what's her problem? i don't leave my phone in some pizza hut place and walk away happily with my friends...i don't put my phone on silent mode FOREVER so that people can't find me and i definitely don't ignore calls. you think some kind souls will call your friends and let them know they've found your phone?? you think singaporeans are not greedy? you think you won't be so unlucky? think again man. not everyone has a clear conscience or righteous values. finder's takers. get it?!

what's with her bloody attitutde and character?

I hate to say this but they're pretty rotten. i hope she feels real bad for whatever happened. i hope she'll still feel bad about it 10 yrs later.
so what if i sound mean? this is really the one and only way to make her learn her lesson. i so wanted to give her a piece of my mind yesterday when she broke it to us but i still had my reservations.

After taking turns to bombard her, my parents can't help but wonder if they'd spoilt her all these years. or maybe they're simply too occupied with my studies....heck which ever it is....but the karma seems to fall upon my sister.
she cried so hard last night that her eyes are all red and puffy this morning. she learnt her lesson the hard way.......

But STILL, howcome i never lose my phone?? !@#$$%%^** i think i feel worst for her poor phone. if only i own it. that will never EVER happen. aaawwwwww.......

i better stop to heal before i'm dry.

what have i achieved?

what have i achieved?

i wana know too....do you ever feel empty, useless, unwanted, dreadful, "sian" and downright unutilised sometimes? one fine day you wake up in the afternoon, the airconditioner switched off by your beloved mother, you feel sweaty and sticky but still covered in the sheets and your dog's fur all over your face.....you sneeze then sit up, trying to recall what great plans you have for the day only to find out that there's practically no one in your phonebook u can date in particular. FLAT- u feel so damn flat. what's worst is the unbearable headache u suffer after waking up from 12 hours plus of sleep. that feeling sucked like there's no tomorrow. sometimes i really wana believe that there's no tomorrow. with tomorrows like that, i wish i can sleep for life. i'm sure i have more use than just sleeping, eating, and going to bed. the thing is, it's almost natural for me to feel lifeless these days......

let's see, lemme just recollect the number of remarkable things i've done this week. so far, the greatest of all should be bringing my granny for a check up in the hospital. an then, 2nd on the list, should be babysitting or i should say, BONDING with my beloved pet. Mr muffy seems to think that whenever i'm in shorts it equates "we're going for a walk". cool, it even rhymes....wah-lau-eh....and then he sticks to me like glue tailing me wherever i go...even when i'm going to the toilet. oh well, at least i am of great importance to him. at least i don't feel unwanted. alright, as for the 3rd on the list, that'll be meeting up with gracey and lili for Uni applictions. 4th, i went to get my pay. my eyes almost flashed 2 dollar signs when i saw the paycheck. so the backache and hunger paid off....lol. and then comes number 5- my parents finally bought me my GUESS watch, as promised. woohoo~~~~ love it man!!! hmmmm.....and OH! i bought my sis 2 pairs of earrings to make her feel better since she's apparently so stressed out over her assessment. she said it will affect her GPA at the end of the yr [whatever that means] and she can't understand physics...my god, my physics wasn't so bad before.....but can't blame her, cus she's in IP....the kinda things she study are meant for scholarships in the future, not like plain ol' us.....who just pray for a seat in Uni....lol......

that's about all i guess.....nothing commendable after all...... gotta wake up early tomorrow...not exactly early but i can't sleep late into the noons since i gotta attend Suzy's father's funeral. poor girl, it must be extremely hard on her and her family. gotta go show her lotsa support. especially when she's gonna take her A's this year.....i hope everything will go well for her and her family from now on....i've been praying for her these days, you ppl help to pray too...

a day to remember...FOREVER

Happiest days of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yesterday was pretty emotional for me....i left Accessorize after 3 full months...
there's a fair share of joy and laughter, tire and pain.....but i won't regret it since i've met great ppl there. esp my TOP 3 on the list [ Dhila, Lishan, Connie n my dearest SUHAILA ], nvm if that's more than 3 cus i love them equally much...lol. i'm gonna truly, madly, deeply miss these ppl.....and the rest too....for everything i've learnt and the prezzies!!! lol.

on my last day of work [28th Feb 2006], we were more like partying than working. hehe~ i ordered pizza for them and most of them came to the shop even though they weren't working...some even skipped sch for it...lol.... tt's prolly cus renee [our retail exec] was there too, since it was her last day of work as well.... yep, but i didn't cry though...cus i noe i can always pop-by for a visit..hehe.

That night, was also the night before the release of my A' levels' results......i thought a lot about it and was as nervous as ever.... what if i failed GP? what if i can't even get into SIM?? a billion 'what ifs'.....and that feeling sucked...anyhow, i still had a good night's sleep...think work's the reason for the lack of sleeplessness...lol. thank god for it. i slept all the way till 11.24 the next morning till i got an sms from jacky...'good luck' it read, [ i need lots of it]

and all's history....... i thought i couldn't make it.....i thought i'd fail...i thought i'll have to suffer the same emotional turmoil i've suffered 3 yrs ago but i was so wrong when i saw my results....

all i can say is, ' my hardwork really paid off and i couldn't be happier '.what's happier is, the ppl around me did well too...esp lili n gracey: do u all still remember the day we sneaked into the NUS library and studied there? how we wished we can all rightfully call it our 2nd home...how we'll sit at the exact same table we sat in the FASS canteen? now we can!!!

I can practically smell the grass over at NUS, NTU.....wherever....lol.... everything seemed to make sense finally. why i didn't make it to poly, why i have to take A levels despite dreading it for 3 yrs....it made perfect sense....i can't say it's destiny but i can't rule that out either.

Everything's falling into place for me finally.....at long bloody last.

i'm reading again!

I dislike reading. the funny thing is, i only realised this lil' flaw of mine a couple of months ago. in other words, i prefer precison. straight to the point, and right-at-your-face type of answers. though occassional guessing games are kinda entertaining and grandmother stories are good for killing time. still, it all boils down to one thing----my interest for books and vocabulary is slowly growing out of my liking.

it was like a rude awakenning for me being told off by my dad---he has such a reputation for digging at my blundders [and that's the most disdainful thing to me]. we were having breakfast the other day at the table, he had 'The Straights Times' before him, a cup of coffee beside it. while he was intensely searching for informative articles and important news, while i was browsing through celebrity gossips in 'LIFE'. see the contrast? and it's not like reading "LIFE" is such an offence.....[ it was published precisely for that purpose- for US, to READ right???? ]. but my bugger-dad had to comment on this very harmless gesture.

he is so into self-improvement antics these days it can actually drive me nuts. he told me he once contemplated leaving a note somewhere in my 192-page self-help book called "Earn what you're Worth". okay, so i bought the book myself. and just as HE expected, it was never really due for completion. ... .... .. . .... ... ... .. . . .. .. .. . ... ... . ...

and so the note will read: " by the time u see this note, it will already be half a year gone. or worse, u'll only see this when you're trying to tug the book somewhere in a corner. and it falls off ACCIDENTALLY."

-OUCH-

it's like a slap in the face. that does it man, i'm SO gonna prove it to him that i'm definitely more than just THAT! i do read okay....but i'm not gonna prove it with with this book of course....that was quite a mistake. the so-called "Wildly Sophisticated" approaches to a successful career or life isn't really my cup of tea...at least not at the moment. it's exclusively for aspiring career women who thrive to shine in the corprate arena.----so not me--- i haven't even got my A'level cert for goodness' sake, so i guess it was just another of my disastrous attempt. the book was undeniably BORING [to me], so full of corprate-crap and lacks genuine humour....or maybe i don't get what she's saying most of the time, that's why.

Like as if my life's not boring enough.....i don't need another reason to make myself feel dead. Anyways, it seems to me that i'm reduced to celebrity gossips and monthly horoscope columns. pathetic. so, to rescue myself from falling into this pitthole, i've vowed to kick that killer habbit of mine......i'm gonna start reading! i'm so not gonna be lazy! Now, it's theee time for me to READ....selectively..haha. and i've finally found a book which appeals to me---Robyn Sisman's "Perfect Strangers"...what a romantic start.........nothing beats romance....sad, sappy ol' romance fiction...love it. i can still remember reading "pearl habour" and "a walk to remember" more than three times each. SEE....i don't exactly dislike reading, cuz if i really like the book, i'll read it over and over again with exceeding interest! very unsophisticated and typical of a girl, i know....but seriously, i'm no different from those girls who cry in the movies. it's no shame to being girly in my opinion, really. but of course, i'll never be content to stop right there---i'll be much more than just THAT. Now that i'm cruising towards my 2os....and being a "swinging-single", this book can't be more suitable for my new beginning-----the quest for sohistication, love and success!!!!! lol....sounds ambitious? cheesy? or just down-right cliche? who cares man....it's just the starters......reading is just one of the many, many changes i'd like to begin with.

i can't be more excited.

10 things tt's driving me nuts this month...

10 things which are driving me nuts this month....

work-related:
1* Insufficient sleep......and backache!!! [it's kinda unbearable as time goes by. age isn't a factor]
2* Entangled accessories! [this should top the damn list, really]
3* replenishing stocks [or rather stock taking]
4* that gay at wallet shop
5* The repetition of songs played in the shop [even the nicest tunes suck like hell to me now]

non-work related:
1* finding that heart-breaking song
2* the guilt of retail-therapy
3* k-boxing my money away [volunteerily]
4* the difficulties of getting things done. [i'm too fed-up to elaborate]
5* realising that somethings just simply cannot be forgotten. maybe tt's why it's so hard to forgive too.[i totally get it]

...talk about a happy chinese new yr..... what an irony.
